concentric-whorl-wood-wall-art-with-layered-relief-for-modern-interiors
Concentric Whorl Wood Wall Art with Layered Relief for Modern Interiors

A wide relief panel with a single concentric whorl carved off to one side, its rings rising step by step toward a raised centre while the rest of the face is left as a quiet worked plane. The contrast between the busy coil and the calm surround is the whole idea of the piece. It is cut from Natural Solid Wood, with the figure of the board running straight through the rings.

Product Highlights

Concentric coil carved in rising steps from Natural Solid Wood.

Off-centre placement leaves generous quiet space on one side of the panel.

Each ring is rounded over, so the spiral reads as soft rather than machined.

Wide horizontal format designed for long walls.

Flat border keeps the piece calm enough for a formal room.

Sealed with a protective coat that leaves the ring edges tactile.

Design & Craftsmanship

The coil is stepped out from the centre in a series of rings, each one cut slightly lower than the last so the spiral climbs toward its middle. The maker keeps the ring walls rounded rather than square, which is why the light rolls over them instead of breaking sharply. Around the coil the surface is worked with long shallow sweeps that follow the grain, giving the plain area movement without competing with the spiral. Because the whorl is placed away from the centre of the panel, the composition has to be balanced by eye rather than by measurement. The border is left flat and true so the piece sits tight to the wall.

Placement & Use

Made for a long wall in a formal living room, above a bench or a low bank of storage, or in a music room or reception space. It suits wide, calm rooms where the coil can be read from a distance.

Care & Customization

Wipe over with a soft dry cloth and take dust out of the ring grooves with a brush. Keep it away from damp walls and out of direct sun for long stretches. Size and tone finish are chosen when you order, and custom proportions can be arranged with us first.

Shipping & Assembly

This piece arrives fully assembled, so there is nothing to build: it is packed as a single unit with protective materials and only needs mounting to the wall.
