The wide opening this leaves at the centre is the defining feature, turning a substantial block of timber into something that reads as light. It suits a contemporary seating area built around a sectional.

Product Highlights

Handcrafted from Natural Solid Wood, gently finished to keep the grain tactile

Single sweeping form that flows from top to floor without a break

Large open void through the centre of the base

Broad flat upper surface for books, trays and ceramics

Low stance keeps sightlines clear across the room

No drawers, doors or shelving in the structure

Size and tone finish chosen at the point of order

Design & Craftsmanship

Solid wood blocks are joined and then worked as a single mass, so the curve that forms the opening is cut through the body of the piece rather than assembled from parts. Shaping that void takes most of the bench time: the inner face has to be faired until it is as smooth as the outside, because both are on show from the seating. Our makers smooth the whole sweep by hand, following the curve rather than crossing it, so no flat spots appear along the bend. The upper surface is planed level and eased at the edge to sit comfortably under the arm. A light protective finish is then worked in, raising the grain and the tactile character of the wood without adding shine.

Placement & Use

Put it at the centre of a sectional arrangement, where the opening frames the rug and keeps the floor visible. It also works in a wide lounge or a garden room, giving a broad surface for serving without blocking the view across the space.

Care & Customization

Dust with a soft dry cloth, paying attention to the inside of the curve where dust settles. Keep the table out of direct sun and away from damp or heated corners, and use a mat under anything hot or wet. Sizing and tone finish can be tailored before the piece goes into production.

Shipping & Assembly

Each piece is packed with protective materials so it arrives without dents or cracks.
