Seen from the sofa it is mostly negative space, which is what keeps a low, wide table from feeling like a barrier in the room. The architectural base gives it presence even when nothing is on the surface.

Product Highlights

Handcrafted from Natural Solid Wood, finished to leave the surface tactile

Curved organic top with a continuously moving edge line

Slab supports cut through with softly rounded openings

Low architectural base that reads as sculpture from seated height

Wide flat surface for trays, books and everyday objects

Nothing enclosed underneath, so the floor stays clear and easy to sweep

Size and tone finish chosen at the point of order

Design & Craftsmanship

The openings are the reason this base works, and they are also the reason it takes time: each one is bored, opened out and then smoothed from the inside until the curve is even all the way round. Our makers work with the grain on that inner face, because a torn edge there catches the light and gives the whole piece away. The top is joined from solid stock, flattened and cut to a moving outline, then rolled over by hand until the edge feels soft rather than sawn. Supports and top are dry-fitted and trued on a flat surface before anything is finished. A gentle protective coat is worked in afterwards, guarding the surface while keeping the figure of the timber readable.

Placement & Use

It is at home at the centre of a lounge seating group, low enough to keep sightlines open across the room. The pierced base also makes it a good choice where a rug carries a pattern you would rather not cover up.

Care & Customization

Wipe the top with a soft dry cloth and clear spills before they settle into the wood. Keep it clear of damp walls, radiators and long spells of direct sun, and slip a pad beneath warm or wet items. Sizing and tone finish can both be tailored before production.

Shipping & Assembly

Each piece is packed with protective materials so it arrives without dents or cracks.
