storage-end-table-with-sculptural-s-curve-and-solid-wood-open-shelf-design
Storage End Table with Sculptural S Curve and Solid Wood Open Shelf Design

An end table in Natural Solid Wood formed as a continuous S, where the upper sweep flattens into a cantilevered surface and the lower sweep curls into a closed ring that holds an open shelf. The same ribbon of timber does both jobs, so storage and support are one gesture. It suits a seating corner that needs a home for books as well as a mug.

Product Highlights

Handcrafted from Natural Solid Wood and sealed with a protective coat

Continuous S-form running from the floor to the overhanging surface

Lower curl closes into a ring that forms one open shelf

Shelf is reachable from both open sides of the ring

Flat top cantilevered forward for easy reach from a seat

Each curve is shaped by hand and holds its own sweep

Size and tone finish are chosen when the order is placed

Design & Craftsmanship

The ribbon is carved from joined blocks of kiln-dried solid wood worked as a single body, so the upper cantilever and the lower ring are the same run of timber. Our makers keep the material full where the S changes direction, because that is where the load from the top travels down into the ring. The inside of the ring is smoothed as carefully as the outside, since it is in full view once the shelf is filled. The upper surface is flattened at the end of the process so it stands level despite the movement beneath it. A hand-applied sealer closes every face, including the underside of the shelf.

Placement & Use

Set it beside a sofa or an armchair with the ring facing into the room so the shelf is easy to load. The cantilevered top will reach over an arm to put a drink within hand. In a reading corner it keeps a current book off the floor.

Care & Customization

Dust the top and wipe inside the ring with a soft dry cloth. Keep the table clear of direct sun and humid corners, and wipe spills before they settle. Custom sizing and a choice of tone finish can be arranged before production starts.

Shipping & Assembly

Each piece is packed with protective materials so it arrives without dents or cracks.
