sweeping-freeform-wood-wall-sculpture-with-organic-relief-for-entryways
Sweeping Freeform Wood Wall Sculpture with Organic Relief for Entryways

A long sweeping wall sculpture carved as a single blade of wood, tapering to a fine point at each end and dished into a smooth hollow through its middle. There is no relief pattern and no border: the whole effect comes from the curve of the object itself and from the figure in the timber. Cut from Natural Solid Wood, it is a quiet, confident piece for a wide entry wall.

Product Highlights

Single sweeping blade form, tapering to a point at both ends.

Broad hollow dished through the centre to catch and hold shadow.

Carved from Natural Solid Wood, with the figure running the length of the sweep.

No frame and no border; the outline is the composition.

Long low proportion designed for wide walls and stair halls.

Protective surface coat over a finely sanded, continuous face.

Design & Craftsmanship

Because there is nothing to hide behind, the whole piece depends on the accuracy of one long curve, which is shaped by eye and then refined over several sanding stages. The central hollow is scooped out gradually and kept shallow near the tips so the points stay strong enough to survive handling. The maker chooses stock where the figure runs lengthways, so the grain reinforces the sweep instead of cutting across it. Both tips are the last areas finished, worked down slowly until they thin out without becoming fragile. The back face is flattened along the body for mounting while the tips remain fully shaped.

Placement & Use

Made for an entryway wall above a bench or console, a wide stair hall, or a long living room wall where it can run uninterrupted. A plain, well-lit wall lets the single curve read at its best.

Care & Customization

Wipe along the length with a soft dry cloth, following the grain. Keep the piece away from damp and out of prolonged direct sunlight.
